Privacy Policy
Lawson Design & Engineering ("we," "us," or "our") operates ShowStack, available at showstack.io, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you register for an account or use the Service, we may collect:
- Name and email address (at registration and waitlist signup)
- Password (stored in hashed, non-reversible form — we never store plaintext passwords)
- Billing information, processed securely through our third-party payment processor
- Communications you send us, such as support requests or feedback
1.2 Show and Production Data You Create
ShowStack is a tool for managing professional audio production data. The content you create within the Service — including show configurations, equipment lists, communication system configurations, mic tracking data, crew information, and related production documents — is your data. We store it on your behalf to provide the Service. We do not analyze, sell, or share this data with third parties.
1.3 Information Collected Automatically
When you use the Service, we automatically collect certain technical information, including:
- IP address and general geographic region
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages visited, features used, and time spent in the application
- Error logs and performance data
1.4 Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to help us understand how visitors use our website and application. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit the site, which pages they visit, and what other sites they used prior to visiting. We use this information only to improve the Service.
Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit, rather than your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through Google Analytics with personally identifiable information. Google's ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits is restricted by the Google Privacy Policy.
You may opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by enabling Do Not Track in your browser settings.
1.5 Cookies and Local Storage
ShowStack uses browser cookies and local storage to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and support certain application features such as editable labels and UI state. These are functional in nature and are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. Google Analytics also places cookies to track usage patterns as described in Section 1.4.
You may disable cookies through your browser settings, but doing so may affect your ability to use certain features of the Service.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and maintain your account
- Provide, operate, and improve the Service
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Send transactional emails such as account confirmations, password resets, and billing notices
- Respond to your support requests and communications
- Analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve the Service (via Google Analytics)

- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your data for targeted advertising. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Ever.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share limited information only in the following circumstances:

- Web analytics (Google Analytics — see Section 1.4)

3.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
3.3 Business Transfer
In the event that Lawson Design & Engineering or the ShowStack platform is acquired, merged, or its assets are transferred to another entity, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify registered users via email prior to any such transfer and will describe your options at that time.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account information and production data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 90 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer.
You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at showstackapp@gmail.com. We will confirm and process your request within 30 days.
5. Data Security
We implement reasonable and industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure. These include:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit
- Hashed password storage using industry-standard algorithms
- Access controls limiting which personnel can access production databases
- Regular dependency and security updates
No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

6.4 Opting Out of Email Communications
You may opt out of non-transactional email communications (such as product updates or announcements) at any time using the unsubscribe link in those emails. Transactional emails related to your account and billing cannot be opted out of while your account is active.

Lawson Design & Engineering does not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at showstackapp@gmail.com.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at showstackapp@gmail.com and we will delete that information promptly.
8. Third-Party Links and Integrations
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or reference third-party products and manufacturers for compatibility purposes. This Privacy Policy applies only to the ShowStack platform operated by Lawson Design & Engineering. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party site or service, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any information to them.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will notify registered users of material changes by updating the effective date at the top of this document and, where appropriate, by sending an email notification. Your continued use of the Service after any changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
